Soon to become your favorite blooms of spring, the Amazing Grace Creeping Phlox greets spring with truly Amazing white blooms with touches of deep wine. They look as though someone took a tiny paintbrush to each blossom. This Phlox subulata or Moss Pinks is perfect for a rock gardens, foundations, flower and Alpine gardens. Maturing about 4 inches tall, this evergreen groundcover is a great choice for covering hillsides and sloped areas with its needle-like foliage.

In late spring, after the plants have flowered, clip off spent blooms and then, lightly fertilize around the base with a neutral fertilizer. Pull back the mulch, sprinkle the fertilizer onto the soil around the plants, and replace the mulch. Then water the plants thoroughly. This feeding will provide the plants with ample nutrients to support prolonged flowering. Once blooming has ended, clip or pick the spent blossoms off the plant to prevent them from burning the foliage.
