Peonies are a spring time favorite perennial plant. Plant in mostly sunny areas that are well draining. The huge peony blooms sometimes even overwhelm the plant itself and may need staking for the first couple of years. Most peonies season varies to bloom in spring to early summer.
We're excited to be adding onto our Itoh Peonies. Commonly known as Intersectional Peonies, Itohs are a cross between the garden peonies and woody tree peonies. Itohs are named for Toichi Itoh who in 1948 made the first cross. Intersectional Peonies have proven to be more winter hardy, have a longer bloom time, more sturdy upright bushy habit and strong enough to not require staking compared to the common garden peony.
