FALL BEFORE THANKSGIVING OFFER: Plant Now for Early, Disease-Free Fruit!

Don't wait for spring! Fall is the secret season for establishing perennial fruit, giving your plants a critical head start for the biggest, earliest yields. For a limited time, build your dream orchard with our featured Tissue Culture (TC) Collection—direct clones guaranteed to be vigorous and disease-free.

This special offering features 7 premium, heavy-fruiting varieties:

  • 2 Muscadine Grapes
  • 3 Thornless Blackberries
  • 2 High-Yield Blueberries

THE VALUE-ADD: Purchase any 3 of these plants, or grab all 7, and you'll receive a FREE pair of our signature Greenwood Nursery Knitted Gardening Gloves—the perfect gift for the dedicated fall planter!

WHY PLANT NOW? Planting in the fall allows the roots of these dormant plants to focus all their energy on establishment. They develop a massive, unseen root system over winter, ensuring they are ready to explode with growth and bloom earlier than spring-planted stock. This means more fruit, sooner!

Quick Reference: Safe Fall Planting Zones (October 25 - November 30)

The ability to safely plant these fruiting plants in late fall depends entirely on your hardiness zone and average freeze date.

To give your plants the best survival rate, we strongly recommend planting only in regions where the soil does not freeze solid until late December or January.

Hardiness Zone

Safe Planting Status

Key Reason

Zone 8 and Warmer

IDEAL & SAFEST

Winters are mild, allowing root growth throughout November and into early winter.

Zone 7

ACCEPTABLE (with Care)

Planting must be completed by early November to allow for the critical 6-8 weeks of root establishment before hard freezes typically set in. Heavy mulching is highly recommended.

Zone 6 and Colder

NOT RECOMMENDED

The risk of the ground freezing too quickly (late November/early December) is too high. It is safest to buy now and overwinter the plants in a garage or cold frame for spring planting.
