Vitis rotundifolia 'Welder' Muscadine Grape Vine

Elevate your backyard harvest with the exceptional flavor of the Vitis rotundifolia β€˜Welder’ Muscadine Grape Vine, a cherished variety now available from Greenwood Nursery. Our commitment to providing you with the highest-quality container-grown plants is evident in this specimen, which is grown from tissue culture to ensure a healthy, vigorous start. As your trusted online nursery, we bring this superb vine direct to your door, ready to establish itself and reward you with an abundant harvest.

The β€˜Welder’ Muscadine is a premium bronze-fruited variety beloved for its outstanding sweetness and excellent flavor, making it a fantastic choice for both fresh eating and crafting homemade juices or preserves. This vine is a prolific producer of large, juicy grapes that will become the highlight of your late summer and early fall. To ensure a bountiful crop, the β€˜Welder’ is a female muscadine and requires a nearby self-fertile muscadine variety like our 'Delicious' to act as a pollinator. Planting them together guarantees you get the best of both worlds!

Choose Greenwood Nursery for your muscadine grape needs and experience the unparalleled taste of a homegrown harvest with our expertly cultivated vines.

Quick Reference Guide: Vitis rotundifolia 'Welder' Muscadine Grape Vine Care

  • Planting Zones: USDA Hardiness Zones 7-9.
  • Light Requirements: Thrives in full sun (at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight per day) for vigorous growth and maximum fruit production.
  • Soil Conditions: Prefers well-draining, slightly acidic soil (pH 5.5-6.5). Avoid heavy, compacted soils to prevent root issues.
  • Watering Needs: Water deeply and consistently during the first year to help the root system establish. Once mature, it is quite drought-tolerant, but will produce better fruit with regular watering during dry spells.
  • Pollination: The 'Welder' is a female muscadine and is not self-fertile. It requires a self-fertile variety to be planted nearby (within 50 feet) for pollination and fruit set.

Shipping: One Pint size

  • Shipping Restrictions:Β Cannot ship to ID, NY, OR, CA, or WA.

happen. Plants may be processed later than scheduled or the shipping department may get behind. This is not the norm, but it does sometimes happen. Please bear with us if this happens.

Our bare-root (field-grown) trees and shrubs typically arrive at the facility for shipping in November, December, and January (for fall shipping) and in February, March, April, and May (for spring shipping).
