Monarch® Butterfly Bush 'Blue Knight' - Blue Flowering Shrub

Our newest butterfly bush addition, the 'Blue Knight' is part of the Monarch® Butterfly Bush Collection developed by Walters Gardens. Reaching 4 to 5 feet tall, the Blue Knight can spread up to 6 1/2 feet wide. Flower panicles begin opening in late summer with shades of lavender maturing to 10 to 12 inches long of rich blue purple colors. 

Just as other buddleia bushes and flowering shrubs are finishing up their summer flowering, the 'Blue Knight' Buddleia is just getting started. It blooms late summer into early fall. The dark blue purple flowers set against the soft green foliage makes this buddleia a colorful backdrop for companion plants such as Mellow Yellows Echinacea, lavender plants, Veronicas, coreopsis, and ornamental grasses.

Birds, bees and hummingbirds are attracted to the honey-scented flowers. Plant in full sun near sitting areas to enjoy the fragrance and colors of this upright, mounded flowering shrub.
