Ground Covers
Ground Cover Plants grow to fill in bare areas in the landscape and are the number 1 choice as a substitute for grass in the yard. Ground cover plants are used for erosion problems, areas such as hillsides or banks that are diffcult to mow, spaces where grass can't grow, as a finishing touch for a landcaped area, in pathways, and for planting between stepping stones. One of our newest ground covers is the Jeepers Creepers Tiarella. This wonderful ground hugging trailing plant is not only colorful, but an excellent substitute for English Ivy For erosion control or difficult planting sites, consider fast growing evergreen ground cover plants such as vinca minor, vinca major, English Ivy, purple wintercreeper or pachysandra terminalis. Many of our ground cover plants are drought tolerant plants. Read our article, Planting Ground Cover Plants.
