Karley Rose Grass, Pennisetum orientale, has dark green foliage topped with long-blooming (June till frost) rose lavender plumes. I knew Karley Rose Grass was another of a long list of great plants that I had to add to the garden. I planted two Karley Rose Grass' on a berm we have in the garden, on either side of a green lace leaf Japanese maple. As Karley Rose Grass grows the texture and pink plumes will really offset the green lace foliage of the Maple.
The plumes will stay around during the winter and then are cut off the foliage to 6 inches from the top of the ground in early spring. Strolling in the garden in the fall and early winter, after the grasses turn their great yellow fall color, there is calming affect when the slight winter breezes create a gentle rustle in the spent grasses.
Our Grasses are shipped in one gallon trade size containers, full root system, ready to plant, and start growing.
