Description

Crape Myrtle Raspberry Sundae Pink Flowering Tree

Beautiful raspberry pink flowers fill this crape myrtle from July to September. While generally winter hardy to zone 7, as with many other lagerstroemia indica it will grow into zone 6, but often dies back to the ground during winter. The dark green leaves makes a striking backdrop for the crepe paper pink flowers. As the flowers begin to give way to seed pods in fall, the dark green foliage begins to turn orange.

A colorful southern tree, the Raspberry Sundae Crape Myrtle is excellent as seasonal screens, along driveways, foundation corners and patio trees.

Growing Crape Myrtle Tips:

  • Prune in early spring before leaves appear
  • Water deeply especially during dry periods
  • Plant in full sun as blooms may not mature in shade to partially shaded areas
  • Mulch in winter to protect roots.
