Echinacea Sombrero Adobe Orange - Coneflower -

Commonly referred to as Coneflower, this is a blend of Echinacea and the Balsomador plant. The Echinacea Orange is a vibrant and extremely impressive plant. Its 2.5-3 inch flowers stand out from any other plants with their intense orange petals and matching cone. The flowers grow to completely over the foliage leaving your garden carpeted in a cheerful orange.

This new series is compact and quite prolific with an exceptionally long blooming season. The blooming season begins in midsummer and continues through for months if dried flowers are regularly removed. Its gold and orange shades are the perfect addition to sunny beds and borders. The green foliage stays covered when the flowers are in bloom. In winter some dried flower heads may be left on to provide food for finches and provide an interesting scenery.

How to grow echinacea:

Echinacea grows easily on fertile, well drained soils. They are hardy and have proved themselves to be drought tolerant. They require full sun for prolific blooming although they may survive in partial shade but will not do as well and may become weakened.

These coneflowers grow to a height of 18-20 inches and can spread up to 18-20 inches wide. They are easy to maintain with a medium growth rate. Grow then in masses to create a visually stunning point of attraction in your garden. Unlicensed propagation is prohibited.

The herbaceous perennial requires frequent watering when planting to develop an extensive root system and only in extreme heat conditions. Apply fertilizer and prune old foliage in early spring to boost and maximize new growth.
