Arborvitae Growth Rate:
The Holmstrup Arborvitae is a slow grower. It reaches 5 to 7 feet tall and approximately 2 to 3 feet wide in about 10 years. Excellent for privacy hedge lining driveways, foundation plant, container plant and even grows in wet areas like other American Arborvitae.
Easy to grow and requires little care. Protect from drying winds. Water deeply over the first year to establish a strong root system. In spring, prune for shaping. Before new growth begins, it is safe to fertilize. A popular question is why do arborvitae turn brown? Click on the link asking the question and long time colleague David Beaulieu will explain.
