- Space-saving vertical form perfect for tight property lines
- Attracts butterflies and hummingbirds
- Deer resistant and drought tolerant once established
- Low maintenance and heat tolerant
- Proven Winners® selection
- Hardy in zones 5-9
Growing Conditions:
Plant Purple Pillar® rose of Sharon in full sun in well-drained soil. This adaptable shrub thrives in various soil types and tolerates urban conditions, heat, humidity, and drought once established. Water regularly during the first growing season to establish a deep root system. Prune in late winter or early spring if desired to maintain shape, though minimal pruning is needed due to its naturally columnar form.
Landscape Uses:
Perfect for narrow spaces, property line screens, foundation plantings, mixed borders, and vertical accents in modern gardens. Purple Pillar®'s tall, narrow form makes it ideal for tight spaces between homes, along fences, and in small backyards where you need height without width. The continuous summer-to-fall blooms provide months of color and attract beneficial pollinators to your garden.
