Description
Pink Dogwood β Small Spring Flowering Tree
Overview
If you need a small springβflowering tree that brings reliable color without overwhelming a foundation bed or shaded corner, the Pink Dogwood is a dependable choice. This understory tree fits naturally into woodland edges, mixed borders, and near patios where its soft pink spring blooms can be appreciated up close.
Description
The Pink Dogwood is a classic ornamental tree valued for its early spring display and its ability to thrive as an understory species. In midβspring, the tree is covered with soft pink bracts that overlap slightly, creating a full, uniform canopy of color. Its scale makes it ideal for planting near windows, along foundations, or as a focal point in smaller landscapes where larger trees would overpower the space.
Like other Cornus florida, this variety performs well in full sun to partial shade and is well suited to woodland gardens, naturalized areas, and lightly shaded yards. Its branching structure provides fourβseason interest, while its moderate size keeps maintenance simple. Plant where the spring bloom can be viewed from nearby outdoor living areas or interior windows.
