Product Overview:

Introducing the Low Scape Snowfire Aronia, an exceptional native shrub that beautifully combines aesthetics with ecological benefits. This mid-sized shrub is perfect for gardeners who want to create a stunning landscape while supporting local wildlife and pollinators.

In spring, the Low Scape Snowfire bursts into bloom with a profusion of delicate white flowers, attracting busy bees and butterflies. Throughout summer, the shrub maintains a lush, green appearance that harmonizes with summer blooms. As autumn approaches, it transforms into a visual masterpiece, showcasing vibrant red foliage and producing clusters of dark blue fruits that delight both you and the local wildlife.

Key Features of Low Scape Snowfire Aronia:

  • Botanical Name: Aronia melanocarpa 'SMNAMPEM' USPP 34,116, Can PBRAF

  • Common Names: Low Scape Snowfire Aronia

  • Seasonal Interest: White spring flowers, dark purple fruit in summer, and brilliant fall colors

  • Growth Habit: Mounded shape, growing 48 to 72 inches tall and spreading 36 to 48 inches wide

  • Sunlight: Thrives in full sun (6+ hours) to part sun (4-6 hours)

  • Hardiness Zones: 3a to 9a

Why Choose Low Scape Snowfire Aronia:

  • Versatile Growth: Adapts to a variety of conditions, from warm to cool climates and from wet to dry soils

  • Mounded Habit: Attractive mounded shape, ideal for borders, low hedges, or informal landscaping

  • Seasonal Interest: Enjoy white spring flowers, dark purple fruit in summer, and brilliant fall colors

Maintenance Made Simple:

  • Low Maintenance: Requires little maintenance, making it easy to care for

  • Pruning Tips: If you choose to prune for shaping, the best time is right after flowering. Keep in mind that pruning might reduce fruit production.

  • Drought and Salt Tolerant: Ideal for various landscapes, including native gardens and erosion control areas

Fun Fact:

The common name "chokeberry" comes from the fruit’s extremely astringent taste, but don’t let that deter youβ€”it's a popular choice for attracting wildlife!
