Veronica Pink Moody Blues Speedwell -
Definitely the most popular Veronica available, the Pink Moody Blues is a herbaceous perennial with a bushy but compact habit with narrow, creased, dark-green leaves and bright pink blooms. It blooms all through the summer until appearance of the first frost. Remove faded or faded spikes to keep the flower in bloom longer.
The pink speedwell does well in partial shade to full sun and does not need lots of water to grow. You should however water it regularly – ideally weekly, but more often if grown in containers or in extreme heat conditions. It grows to 12-14 inches tall and wide, making it perfect as a border plant, for growing in containers, cutting garden, mass planting, or woodland garden.
Though it grows well in most soils, it loves well-drained soils with adequate moisture. It will grow in neutral, alkaline, or acidic soils, but overly wet winter conditions should be avoided. During the first growing season, it is recommended to water deeply, regularly, to help the plant develop and extensive root system.
This veronica plant grows to a height of 12-14 inches with an equal spread. Spent flowers of the moody blues speedwell should be clipped to maintain it’s neat appearance. You can also cut it back to basal growth after flowering, and divide it in early spring, every 2-3 years. It is deer and rabbit resistant too. Veronica spicata 'Novaverpin' Plant Patent #25,748
