Halesia tetraptera - Carolina Silverbell

Halesia tetraptera - Carolina Silverbell

Native to the southeastern United States, the Carolina Silverbell is one of the prettier understory trees or larger growing flowering shrubs. Through April and May the Carolina Silverbell is loaded with tiny white bell shaped flowers that attract bees and other native pollinators. Pair this rounded shrub-like tree with other woodland plants like pines, arborvitae, redbud, dogwoods, rhododendrons, azaleas, hostas and ferns.

Ranging in height from 30 to 40 feet tall with a spread of 20 to 35 feet. Carolina Silverbell fruit is a star shaped drupe with four wings that hangs on until the following year. A favorite food for squirrels and other wildlife.

Carolina Silverbells is growing in quart size containers. Orders shipping to AZ or CA will be bare rooted and root washed before being prepped for shipping.
