Japanese Maple Glowing Embers - Acer palmatum -
The Glowing Embers Maple was developed by the renown horticulturist Michael Dirr at the University of Georgia. This Dirr creation is heat tolerant and grows in a variety of soil conditions. Spring brings new green foliage on red branches. Its green foliage is constant throughout summer showing little to no leaf burn. Fall brings this Japanese Maple to life with foliage in reds, oranges and yellows - glowing embers. Matures at 15 feet tall in about 10 years.
