Strawberry plugs are container grown plants with strong root systems. Planting in early fall, these root systems continue to grow in the warm ground until December/January typically. Once your soil begins to warm again in April, the plants quickly begin putting on new top growth with flowers and then fruit. Much heavier crops first spring planted that bare root plants provide.
