What do you need for a songbird garden?
- 1 fruit producing tree - like hackberry or white dogwood
- 1-2 evergreen trees for protection - cypress or thujas
- 4+ fruiting shrubs - viburnum, spicebush, caragana, serviceberry
- 1+ fruiting vines - virginia creeper
In an area 15 to 20 feet wide and at least 20 feet deep, you can grow a wildlife habitat that will be welcoming to not only songbirds, but other migrating birds, too.
