Wild Red Columbine Aquilegia canadensis

Aquilegia canadensis is a native wildflower throughout North America.

Commonly called Wild Red Columbine, this early flowering perennial plant works great for nooks and crannies, hummingbird gardens, butterfly gardens and planted in groupings of 3 or more.

A small grower maturing only up to approximately 12 inches tall, the wildflower native red columbine is deer tolerant. Aquilegia or Columbine grows in full sun to partially sunny areas but also performs well in woodland gardens with filtered sun.
