Achillea Paprika Yarrow -

The Achillea Paprika Yarrow is renowned for its large clusters of bright red flowers. Each individual flower in the cluster of the Achillea millefolium Paprika Yarrow also has a distinctive yellow eye. As is the case with all Yarrows, the flowers fade as they age; the Paprika fades from red to pink. Planting Achillea in afternoon shade will slow the fading a bit. This perennial garden plant is ever blooming with regular deadheading and is best used in the perennial border where it enjoys enriched soil and regular watering.

Achillea Paprika flowers from summer to early fall and attracts butterflies and makes an great addition to a butterfly garden. Plant for fresh cut flowers or dried arrangement. Blooms of the Achillea Paprika are ruby red to salmon rose.

Homeowner Growing & Maintenance Tips: Yarrow is one of the easiest perennials to grow and is a good choice for beginners. All it needs is full sun and well-drained soil. It thrives in average to poor soil and is drought tolerant once established. Plants grown in rich soil tend to be tall and floppy. After the flowers have faded, cut the plant back by half. This will likely stimulate a second flush of blooms in late summer. To maintain control in your garden, do not let yarrow plants go to seed, as most yarrow varieties do not come true from seed. Divide every few years to keep plants to a manageable size.
