Dianthus Zing Rose, Dianthus deltoids, covers itself during June and July with rose red flowers. Zing Rose Dianthus with its semi-evergreen foliage emits a spicy, clove like fragrance throughout the garden. This Dianthus variety grows well in humid areas and once established requires little moisture making it an excellent plant for Xeric gardens. Zing Rose Dianthus, when deadheaded, will produce another beautiful flush of rosy colored blooms. Space these Dianthus plants 12 to 16 inches apart and allow them to creep together. Zing Rose Dianthus are perfect for borders, rock gardens, containers, pathways, or to cascade over pots or walls. Grow in full sun to partial shade. The Zing Rose is a wonderful attractor for hummingbirds and butterflies. Greenwood offers the Dianthus Zing Rose as heavily rooted plants grown in gallon containers (trade gallon). They are the perfect addition for both new and established gardens. Because they offer long-term impact for the landscape, they qualify as one of our choices as an investment landscape plant.
