NEW! Mountain Fire Japonica - Some people call this the ‘Lily of the Valley’ flowering shrub. Mountain Fire is a prolific producer of pendulous white flower clusters in spring followed by fiery red new spring foliage that matures to a lustrous deep green. Its charming flowers make it a beautiful accent plant for condo and town-house patios, city gardens and courtyards.

Works well as a companion plant with Japanese maples and Weigela wine and roses.

Mountain Fire will grow and flower best when planted in full sun or partial sun and shade. It will grow in full shade, but generally does not flower as well and the new foliage growth is usually not as brilliant. Be sure to provide good drainage for the plant.

Care Instructions

Follow a regular watering schedule during the first growing season to establish a deep, extensive root system. Provide well drained soil, rich in organic matter. Feed with an acid fertilizer after bloom. Keep roots cool with a thick layer of mulch.

Ships: in ONE-GALLON containers
