NEW! Juniper Blue Point Juniperus chinensis Blue PointThe Blue Point junipers pyramidal form and massive size makes it a popular specimen for green lawns, which accentuate its blue coloring. We suggest a position near the driveway, or to frame the front entry. With its dense evergreen foliage, the Juniper makes excellent windbreaks is lined up hedge-style, cutting winter cold and summer heat effectively. Also, making and effective front lawn Christmas tree for winter lighting, or winter interest under snow.
The Blue Point Juniper is a favorite for stately lawn specimens and tall screens. Try planting in matched pairs or on four corners of a central courtyard. Durable and versatile, best grouped to form a colorful screen or garden accent. Its natural habitat is dry and windy with full sun exposure. It looks best in an open site with no shade during the day. This allows the foliage to dry quickly in the morning and helps prevent foliage disease from thinning the canopy. A well-drained soil is essential for good growth. Wet soil rots the roots and causes plant decline.
Care Instructions: Follow a regular watering schedule during the first growing season to establish a deep, extensive root system. Watering can be reduced after establishment. Shipped in ONE GALLON containers, Purchase in multiples for best value. Available early March 2008. Book Early while supplies last. The evergreen plants will arrive healthy and ready for planting. Should they die within the first year we will replace at one half the current member price plus shipping.
Once planted with moderate care, just watering every five days or so and not fertilizing for the first year, the plants generally do well. The evergreens are a low maintenance, easy to grow; almost no care needed plant to own.
