Hibiscus Blue Satin®, a new Proven Winner flowering shrub, is absolutely the most beautiful blue hibiscus we've seen! A Rose of Sharon, the Hibiscus Blue Satin®'s large, single, rich blue flowers are certain to draw attention to your garden. Superior to 'Blue Bird', the Blue Satin® Hibiscus is a strong growing, uniform hibiscus flowering shrub with rich color. Unusual blue flowers add a tropical touch to any landscape. Hibiscus syriacus also known as althea or Rose of Sharon. Growing Tips for the Blue Satin® Hibiscus: Blooms mid-summer. Grows in any soil unless it is either very dry or very wet. Prune in late fall or early spring. Can be heavily pruned. Prefers medium moisture. Deciduous flowering shrub. Fertilizer in early spring by applying a slow release fertilizer specialized for flowering trees and shrubs. Follow the label for recommended rate of application. A tremendous improvement in hardy Hibiscus. Strong growing plants with lots of large, brightly colored blooms, the SATIN® HIBISCUS SERIES is clearly superior to older, weaker hardy hbiscus varieties. Much more vigorous than standard varieties.
