Natchez Crape Myrtle Trees are recognized as the top performing Crape Myrtle tree variety in the southeastern U.S. as well as one of the most popular summer flowering trees. Natchez Crape Myrtle trees were introduced by the U. S. National Arboretum in 1987. This amazing crape myrtle produces white flowers and exfoliating cinnamon colored bark. The taller growing Crape Myrtle Natchez reaches heights of 30 feet at maturity. Bloom period is about 110 days in Louisiana starting in early June.

The Natchez Crape Myrtle offers unusually large white blooms. The foliage becomes a reddish-orange in fall. The bark peels off attractively, rather like that of birches, adding winter interest.  As with most Crape Myrtle trees, the flowers are their main selling point. They not only grow in striking clusters, but put on a display that lasts longer than that for most plants (mid-summer to fall). The blooms yield to fruits that are brownish and persist through winter.

Plants thrive in full sun in a good heavy loam soil with a pH of 5-6.5. Greenwood offers the Natchez Crape Myrtle as heavily rooted plants grown in one gallon containers. They are the perfect addition for both new and established gardens.

Easy to plant, and easy to grow!

Crape Myrtle Tip: plant in full sun for optimum flowering. They can be fussy flowering trees. If they receive any blocking from the sun for several hours during the day, such as a building or larger tree, it is likely to inhibit their blooming.
