Grass Acorus gramineus Ogon is a neat looking winner of a sweet flag grass whose bright gold foliage accented with green stripes shimmers in the afternoon sun. Although Acorus Gramineus Ogon Grass is not fully evergreen it will withstand all but the worst winter month. Many folks have asked about a grasses or plants that will work in garden or landscape spots that always stay a little on the damp side.
The Ogon is ideal in front of a damp sunny border or even in containers. It has been known to be able to grow in up to five inches of water. Its size makes it especially suitable for miniature water features such as half barrels or large ceramic bowls filled with water. Can also be grown as a water plant in your garden pond! It is a maintenance free grass that grows well in sun or shade. Slowly naturalizes by spreading roots, but is not invasive.
It grows to 15 inches in height with a 15 inch spread. This is the brightest plant in our woodland garden in winter.
