NEW! Physocarpus Summer Wine™ - P. opulifolius ‘Seward’ PP14821 – When I first saw this plant at the nursery I couldn’t move fast enough to get a closer look. An exciting new heavenly and improved hybrid Ninebark with neat fine textured compact branching and fine deeply cut dark crimson-red leaves. The Summer Wine is a strong grower, but never leggy or out of control.
The foliage is the thing with this plant. Use it next to yellow and bright green plants, or against a light background to get the best effect. Add color and vibrancy to any garden, especially in the spring when it blooms with white button-like blooms.
This native variety has pinkish-white, button-like flowers in mid-summer (late May to early June). It is very showy and extremely hardy (to zone 3). It is prized as a landscape shrub and for cut flowers. It grows from 5 to 6 feet tall and as wide with age. Ships: in ONE-GALLON containers
