White Pine, Pinus Strobus or Eastern White Pine is an excellent ornamental tree for specimens, naturalizing, windbreak or dense screen. White Pine can be easily restrained to manageable height by pruning. The White Pine is a fast growing evergreen tree. The White Pine tree should reach a height of 6 ft. in 3-5 years, starting with our husky White Pine transplants. The White Pine grows in full sun or partial shade, ordinary soil. The White Pine grows in normal moisture conditions but can tolerate wet, swampy areas. Transplant: A transplant is a seedling that has been lifted from one nursery bed and transplanted to another. The transplanted seedling is planted at wider spacing allowing more growing space. Compared to a seedling, a transplant has a more fibrous root system and larger stem diameter. The increased size of transplants gives them an advantage over seedlings, especially on marginal sites. Transplants are hardier, huskier, and more all-around balanced plants. When planted in your landscape, the transplant has a greater chance of survival since it has already survived the shock of being transplanted once at the nursery. Sold as transplants, order in multiples of 5 or 10 plants per order.
