Miscanthus Purpurascens Grass is a beautiful ornamental grass that will add interesting seasonal color changes in your landscape. Imagine Miscanthus Purpurascens Grass beginning with bright green foliage that turns to a reddish color late summer, then burnt orange colors in the fall.
Let the feathery wisps stay in the winter garden for texture and contrast. You will want to trim to the ground in spring as the feathers will persist most of the winter.
This flame colored grass grows to a height of 5 feet with a 4 feet spread, so you will need to space accordingly.
Our Grasses are shipped in one gallon trade size containers, full root system, ready to plant, and start growing.

Homeowner Growing & Maintenance Tips:
Miscanthus is easy to grow and is a good choice for beginners. It will grow in almost any soil, from loose sand to heavy clay, and does not require good drainage. Grow this grass in full sun except in warmer regions where some afternoon shade is best. Fertilization is not necessary.
Divide Miscanthus in spring or early summer to give it time to establish its roots before winter arrives. Only in the mildest of climates should it be divided in the fall.
