Sorry for any inconvenience.
NEW! When I saw the Magnolia Jane, Magnolia liliiflora 'Jane', in GALLON containers at one of our supplier nurseries, I was just floored. It had been so long since I had seen one I just had to purchase some of the 2 foot tall and well branched, full one-gallon size to offer our members this season.
The blooms come out before the new spring foliage and keep on coming, intermittently, all summer long into early fall. The blooms are deep-purple on the outside, pure white within, so the fully blooming tree creates a two-tone show. The foliage is dark to medium green and grows to 15 foot tall and 10 foot wide.
It was developed by the U.S. National Arboretum in the 1950’s to combat the problem of late frosts killing the Magnolia blossoms. It has been around for 50 years but still very difficult to find. Very hardy, and grows in Zones 3 through 9.
