Hosta Patriot cuts a Clean White Path Along the Edge of Every Leaf! Hosta Patriot is our choice for the best white-margined Hosta ever developed! What's the point of variegation if you have to get right on top of the plant to see it? Hosta Patriot takes matters into its own hands with the widest, whitest, cleanest edging I have ever seen on a Hosta. The result is a plant that stands out across the garden -- perfect for formal and informal designs alike!
Patriot grows 18 - 22 inches tall and 36 inches wide. This is a good plant for ground cover, edging, accent plantings, and containers. It grows very quickly and easily in partial shade, topped by unexciting 2 inch lavender blooms in midsummer. Like most Hostas, 'Patirot' is a splendidly easy plant for the shady garden. It tolerates a wide range of soil types, asking only for good drainage at least half a day of shade. Heat, humidity, and cold do not phase it!
