NEW! Taxus x Media Hatfield - A dark green needled evergreen with an upright growth habit. It can be used in foundation plantings, mass, groupings, hedge or screens.
An older form that is still produced, this plant naturally grows very large into a dense, broad pyramid. The needles are dark green. While this plant has the potential to reach 30' tall and 20' wide, it is often pruned to a lower stature.
They can be planted in spring or fall with good results. Taxus does equally well in sun or shade, prefers fertile soil, sufficient moisture, and requires good drainage.
The plants offered are five year old husky transplants and the best we’ve seen for the money. They range in size from 12 to 14 inches tall (professionally pruned). The main trunk is the size of a man’s thumb. The evergreen plants will arrive healthy and ready for planting. Should they die within the first year we will replace at one half the current member price plus shipping.
Once planted with moderate care, just watering every five days or so and not fertilizing for the first year, the plants generally do well. The evergreens are a low maintenance, easy to grow; almost no care needed plant to own.
