Akebono Cherry tree kicks off early spring with beautiful soft pink blossoms. Growing moderately fast, the Akebono Cherry matures at approximately 25 feet in height and can spread equally as wide. The Akebono Cherry produces wonderfully fragrant, semi-double blooms during early spring. Although not quite as well known as theYoshino Cherry (Prunus x yedoensis), the Cherry Akebono makes a great specimen or when used near a deck or patio for light shade. With medium green foliage, the leaves turn a crisp yellow in fall. Plant the Akebono Cherry in full sun. Water regularly during the first growing year to fully establish its root system. As with all flowering cherry varieties, it requires good drainage in acidic soil. Flowering cherry trees are sensitive to drought conditions and may need supplemental watering during such periods. Field Grown transplant averaging 4 foot tall.
